Artist Statement
I’m a fiction writer who longed to go 3-D. I love the collaborative nature of theater – the addition that happens. I love to see others’ experiences and ideas added to what was born in my head. Perhaps it’s all the years I spent in choirs where the voices count on one another to make a joyful sound.
At a young age, in the audience, it always seemed I was looking through a window into someone’s take on our world. It’s what I try to do in my plays: look at things I don’t understand and hope my characters will explain things to me. Since I understand so little, there is no end to material to work with.

Pastor Kris, a charismatic pastor, sees what’s needed in the world and knows she is God’s appointed leader to make it happen. THE ARK is about what can happen when someone is very, very sure of themselves.
